Conducting Starcraft II

For the Instrumental Conducting subject at the conservatorium, everyone has to write or arrange a piece of music to conduct for their final assessment. Since I am a fan of Starcraft, I decided that I would would take “Wings of Liberty” from its soundtrack and adapt it for the ensemble which consists of clarinet, alto saxophone, 3 French horns, 3 trumpets, tuba, guitar, piano, 4 violins, cello and double bass. The arrangement is supposed to allow for the showing of a range of conducting skills and this piece had fantastic potential. It’s also really fun to conduct, so I think it’s a good choice.
